On September 11th 2009, New York Yankee captain Derek Jeter collected his 2,722 hit, surpassing Lou Gehrig’s record for a Bronx Bomber. Jeter added another highlight to his Hall of Fame resume, which already includes a Rookie of the Year Award, 10 All-Star appearances, 3 Gold Gloves and most importantly, 4 World Series Championships. Gehrig had held the record for 70 years, but there was no person more suited to take his place than Jeter, who already had the record for hits in the original Yankee Stadium.
This collage commemorates his achievement of passing Lou Gehrig as the all-time Yankees hits leader, and will come framed in the style pictured with a descriptive nameplate, a replica of the lineup card, a replica of a ticket from the game in which Jeter breaks the record.
