Over the course of his illustrious Yankees career, Derek Jeter, the 1996 American League Rookie of the Year, has appeared in 10 All-Star games, won 4 Gold Glove awards, and won 5 World Series titles. In 2000, he was named MVP of both the All-Star Game and World Series. In 2003 he was named team captain. He has led his team to the Postseason in 14 of his 15 seasons prior to 2010, including 7 World Series. He is perhaps the most clutch performer to ever don the pinstripes, consistently coming up big in big spots. Showing no signs of slowing down, Jeter continues to produce at a staggering clip, breaking club records on a nightly basis.
After a legendary 2009 season that saw the Yankees Captain win his 5th World Series ring, and pass Lou Gehrig on the team’s all-time hits list, Derek Jeter was named “Sportsman of the Year” by Sports Illustrated.
This 16x20 Sports Illustrated cover reprint celebrates this recognition and is hand signed by Jeter in blue ink.
