Barry Bonds is baseball's new home run king. The San Francisco Giants' slugger crushed home run #756 off Mike Bacsik of the Washington Nationals on August 7, 2007, at AT&T Park in San Francisco, a blast that broke Hank Aaron's long-standing record of 755 home runs. The accomplishment is just the latest in Bonds' career, as he is the one and only member of the 500 HR and 500 SB club, set the Major League single-season home run record in 2001 with 73 blasts and also set the single-season walks record in 2001 with 177. A four-time National League MVP, in 1996 he became one of only three players with 40 HRs and 40 SBs in the same season and in August of 2002 he became just the fourth player to reach 600 career home runs.
