Wayne Gretzky's nickname is, not surprisingly, "The Great One." He was a 10-time NHL scoring champion, a nine-time regular season MVP (1979-87, 89) and nine-time All-NHL first team. He scored 200 points or more in a season four times and led Edmonton to four Stanley Cups (1984-85, 87-88). He broke Gordie Howe's all-time NHL goal scoring record of 801 on Mar. 23, 1994, and is the all-time NHL leader in points (2857), goals (894) and assists (1963). In 1999, at age 38, with 61 NHL scoring records in 20 seasons, Gretzky retired.
